Leadership

  Pastor Joel McGarvey and his wife Lynn came to Twin Valley Alliance in 2011 after serving for 15 years as missionaries in the countries of Peru and Argentina. 
 
     Both Joel and Lynn were raised in upstate New York and met while studying at Nyack College.  They have two adult children: Laura, recently married, and Daniel, a student at Messiah College. 
 
     Pastor Joel enjoys reading in his spare time and loves the game of soccer.  He also has an identical twin, but since he lives 250 miles away, you don’t need to worry about getting them mixed up. 
 
     Pastor Joel’s greatest joy in ministry is teaching the Word of God and seeing people grow in their faith

Cory serves as the Online Ministry Director at Twin Valley Alliance Church, overseeing our website, church apps for Android and Apple devices, and our TV apps on Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and Apple TV. Cory's goal is to make sure that our church is accessible to everyone, wherever they are, so that we can stay connected and continue to share the gospel effectively.
In addition to his digital ministry role, Cory also has the privilege of working as a Youth Leader, engaging with both the church youth group and The Gate Kids Ministry to support and guide the next generation in their faith journey.
Beyond church, Cory volunteer at his local high school as a Check & Connect student mentor, helping at-risk students stay engaged and supported, and He also assist during lunch periods at the local elementary school

Brenda Osman is the Disciple-Making Ministries Director at Twin Valley Alliance Church. She oversees Sunday School classes and leads various other ministries focused on discipleship and Christian education. Brenda also manages the yearly Vacation Bible School.

Shalee Forsythe serves as the Assistant Disciple-Making Ministries Director at Twin Valley Alliance Church. In this role, she helps oversee Sunday School classes and provides leadership for various other ministries focused on discipleship and Christian education. Beyond her core responsibilities, Shalee is also actively involved in the Children's Sunday School and Children's Church programs. Additionally, she works alongside her husband as part of the leadership team for the youth group.

John Forsythe serves as an Elder at Twin Valley Alliance Church.
He helps oversee the spiritual growth of the church and partners with the pastor in guiding and shepherding the congregation. John is also a member of the worship team. He and his wife, Shalee Forsythe, serve alongside others as part of the leadership team for the Twin Valley Alliance Church Youth Group  

Jack Rautzahn serves as an Elder at Twin Valley Alliance Church, where he helps oversee the spiritual growth of the congregation and partners with the pastor in guiding and shepherding them.
In addition to his elder responsibilities, John is also a Deacon, leading and overseeing the church’s benevolent ministries, which include providing support for those in need within the community. John is also a regular and enthusiastic attendee of the Men's Bible Study, which meets every Sunday morning from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM in the room located to the right inside the main sanctuary.

Sean Whelan serves as an Elder at Twin Valley Alliance Church, where he helps oversee the spiritual growth of the congregation and partners with the pastor in guiding and shepherding them.

Lisa Soliday serves as the  Secretary for the Board  for Twin Valley Alliance Church, handling all meeting documentation and other administrative tasks related to board operations. On Sunday mornings, Lisa and her husband, Jeff Soliday, are deeply involved in the children's ministries. They provide breakfast to children arriving via parental drop-off or the church's Van Ministry. Both Lisa and Jeff also teach Children's Sunday School and participate in Children's Church during the worship service.
Beyond their Sunday roles, Lisa and Jeff are integral to Twin Valley Alliance Church's The Gate Kids Ministry, which meets every Thursday during the school year from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. This program includes a meal and age-appropriate teaching.

Josiah Soliday serves as the Treasurer for Twin Valley Alliance Church, where he is responsible for all bookkeeping related to church finances, including general giving and online contributions.

Doug Walborn is the Assistant Treasurer for Twin Valley Alliance Church, handling all bookkeeping for church finances, including general and online giving. Doug also teaches the Adult Sunday School class, which meets every Sunday morning from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM inside the main sanctuary. He is married to Tammy Walborn, who serves in the Kids Sunday School and Children's Church during the worship service. Tammy also lends a hand with the Children's breakfast on Sunday mornings when needed

Bill Lewis and John Rautzahn are Deacons at Twin Valley Alliance Church. They lead and oversee the church’s benevolent ministries, including support for those in need within our community.

The Following are Deaconesses at Twin Valley Alliance Church. Deaconesses: organize meals and special dinners at the church and coordinate meal support for those who are sick, recovering, or grieving.
